Used my scallop circle punch to create this super easy, high impact sunflower based on a tutorial I found by Chat aka nitestamper on her blog Me, My Stamps and I. The colors are from the Color Challenge on SCS.

Beate's Weekend Sketch

Beate's Weekend Sketch was a little challenging with its overlaying pattern. I used the Color Throwdown colors, which worked perfectly with the Inspiration Challenge of using these plates as a jumping off point. My leaves are from the Artfully Asian set (one of my faves) and my sentiment is from Warm Words. I ran my Baja Blue panel through my Cuttlebug to get the detailed embossing. Felt flowers add a sweet touch, with the new Filligree Designer Brads in the center.

Lauren's Saturday Sketch

Lauren's sketch on My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence gave me a chance to play some more during the US Open rain delay yesterday (sigh, still wish Andy Roddick was in it...). I used the colors of Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Regal Rose from the Color Throwdown #9 challenge, and finally inked up my new Upsy Daisy stamp with Regal Rose to get a tone-on-tone image. The little thanks sentiment is just one word from my "Absolutely Fabulous" stamp set, inked up with my Black marker. Once again, markers allow me so much latitude in choosing exactly which words I want to stamp, and I love the font of this set. My Felt Fusion flower is in Baja Blue, and I used my Boho Flowers punch to punch out the Regal Rose center flower. My ribbon was white grosgrain until I once again turned to my SU! markers to color it Regal Rose and double wrap it around my panel. So what do you think? Does it work??

Football for DH Means Stamping for ME!

Yup, ya gotta love having two boys who l-o-v-e to watch VA Tech play football with Daddy. Means more crafty time for moi... which is why I was able to do this SCS Inspiration Challenge this afternoon. I based my card on this beautifully-painted hotel room at Hotel Fox in Denmark.

SCS Sketch Challenge 184

I'm behind on lots of challenges since I started my new job but I made a little headway this weekend. This is my version of the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge that was posted on Wednesday.

I used a bunch of scraps that I had lying around from Porcelain Prints and Ginger Blossom designer papers, on a base of Sage Shadow that had been stamped with my "Embrace Life" bamboo branches in Night of Navy. My Boho Blossoms punch came in handy in making the layered flowers over my smaller squares, anchored with Vintage Brads. My larger flower is also from "Embrace Life", stamped on watercolor paper in Sage Shadow Classic Ink and then watercolored with my Aquapainter in Sage Shadow & Night of Navy. I then dabbed my 2-Way Glue Pen on it and added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to make it stand out. My small and large oval punches made short work of the sentiment, from my "Short & Sweet" set of phrases, always perfect for any occasion. And of course I used lots of SU! Dimensionals to pop things up 3-D. As a final touch, I used my Paper Piercer & Mat Pack to emphasize each corner, framing my main image.

Quadruple Challenge Card

Just a quick post today, got the weekend (and Wimbledon) calling my name!! This card is a Quadruple Challenge card. "What?!" you say. "Four challenges in one card???" Yup. Here's the breakdown:

1) SCS Color Challenge = Wild Wasabi, Taken with Teal, and Whisper White (I used Bali Breeze DP for my teal panel and butterfly)

2) SCS Featured Stamper Challenge = using Diane's creation here as a jumping off point for my card

3) SCS Way to Use It Challenge = use a bird in the card (I colored mine with chalk for a softer look)

4) The challenge on Our Creative Corner = use one brad and one button. The teal button was from my stash, the brad is from SU!s Vintage Brads collection.

Wild Wasabi Thank You

Catching up with last week's SCS sketch challenge while playing with my Boho Flowers punch. I love this punch because it makes it super simple to create layered flowers in 3 distinct shapes, all with just a squeeze of the handle. I have found that SU!'s punches are *so* much easier than other cheaper versions found at Michael's, A.C. Moore, etc. They're sharper, so it doesn't take as much of a toll on my arm/wrist to punch through paper or cardstock. Anyhoo, here's my happy little card (I changed it slightly from the original sketch to make a 4 1/2" square card folded at the top). Hope you like it! :-)

Fun With Pink & Green

Just a quick post of a few cards I did recently using up lots of pink and green scraps -- Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Spring Silhouettes designer paper. I sorta got on a roll... The one with the pumpkin was for a challenge to "think outside the box" and use a stamp for something other than it's typical use -- I turned my pumpkin into a Cinderella-type carriage for a bride-to-be, although it also resembles a baby buggy, LOL. :-)
