Grand Opening
This morning I have my first Open House for my new Stampin' Up! business and was up late into the wee hours putting together my Make 'n Takes, will post pics later. I did 3 Christmas cards and 1 bookmark. If I have a lull in my visitors, I may put together a quick Halloween card. My sister-in-law's father-in-law (try to follow that one!) is going to come over to check out my studio and help me figure out what he can build to give me more stamp storage space. Yay -- a woodworker with time on his hands, ya gotta love that.
This pretty card sketch is from Di Hickman's website. I'll be working on a sample this weekend. I've grown addicted to collecting sketches -- Di has some great ones. You can check out her blog at http://www.dihickman.blogspot.com

Thought For the Day
"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Vincent van Gogh
Wow, this hit home today, saw it on my iVillage South Beach site. Through a series of small things, I have come upon this big new challenge that I anticipate will bring great things. Sure would be nice to have a crystal ball right about now...
Scheduled my first Stampin' Up! Open House for this weekend, and of course DS#1 has come down with the flu. Worse case scenario: I get it too and DH ends up showing (LOL) people how to make cards. Better break out the Lysol.

Here I Go!
Can't believe I'm starting this crazy adventure. I have just started a home-based business working with Stampin' Up! to introduce people to the art of rubber stamping. Less than a year ago, thanks to Joyce Perry, I began using Stampin' Up! products and was immediately hooked (just ask my husband!) Friends and family have benefited from my addiction, receiving celebration cards (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.), holiday cards, handmade stationery sets, and just plain thank you notes. The art of sending cards is not lost! And no, an e-mail does not suffice... So while my 3 year old is in nursery school, you'll find me in my sunroom studio creating new masterpieces (gulp!), working on my calendar of events, placing SU! orders and maybe, just maybe, picking up a toy or clearing out the dust bunnies. Hoping to get into the swing of this blogging thing too, so it can be a useful tool to me and my clients. How exciting!! Bloggers, here I come!
